Voice, Speech, Language Service and Swallowing Center - Chicago Campus
The Voice, Speech, Language Service and Swallowing Center is a multi-specialty clinic that offers clinical services from early childhood to adulthood, clinical training to Northwestern University graduate students, continuing education for speech-language pathologists and research on speech and swallowing disorders and their treatment.
Our research experience is reflected in the publication of original, scientific articles and chapters on swallowing rehabilitation in major textbooks in speech-language pathology and otolaryngology. We have developed therapy procedures used with patients who have dysphagia (difficulty swallowing). We have completed a large number of research projects and are currently working on several innovative techniques. Collectively, we have more than 40 years experience in evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders. Members of our group lecture extensively in the United States and abroad and are among the most respected educators in speech-language pathology in the world. We are continuing our research work to expand the frontiers of evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders.
