Participation and Contact Information
We are looking for 7- to 15-year-old children to participate in our research in the following groups:
- Typically developing children
- Children with reading disabilities (dyslexia)
- Children with math disabilities (dyscalculia)
- Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Your child cannot participate in our studies if your child has a history of:
- Head injury requiring emergency medical treatment
- Birth complications requiring admission into neonatal intensive care unit
- Prematurity less than 36 weeks
- Hearing impairment or uncorrected visual impairment
- Non-native English speaker
There are four general components to participating:
- Parents fill out questionnaires
- Children are given standardized achievement and ability measures
- Children practice experimental tasks
- Children participate in fMRI or EEG (see below)
All participants are paid for participation and parents are informed of the results of the testing.
