Early Learning Laboratory

At the Early Learning Laboratory we strive to understand the miraculous growth in language and cognition that occurs during infancy and early childhood. Our research focuses specifically on two core questions:

• How do infants and young children organize their world into meaningful categories?
• How do infants and young children learn new words?

We are particularly interested in how conceptual knowledge of the world contributes to development in these areas.
