Early Learning Laboratory

Lab Logo

At the Early Learning Laboratory we strive to understand the miraculous growth in language and cognition that occurs during infancy and early childhood. Our research focuses specifically on two core questions:

  • How do infants and young children organize their world into meaningful categories?
  • How do infants and young children learn new words?

We are particularly interested in how conceptual knowledge of the world contributes to development in these areas.

If you are interested in the studies and have no further questions, sign up now to participate and join the fun!

If you would like to speak to a researcher or request a brochure, do not hesitate to call us at 847-491-2098 or email us at: earlylearning@northwestern.edu. We look forward to hearing from you!
