Ann Woodworth has worked professionally in Chicago as an actress, director, and teacher. She studied with master teacher, Alvina Krause in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, and was a founding member of the critically acclaimed Bloosmburg Theatre Ensemble. Her thirty years of experience in teaching acting, mime, and movement have included invitations to work as a guest artist with the Teatro Cadafe and La Compania Nacional in Caracas, Venezuela, and the British/American Drama Academy in England, where she taught for seven consecutive summers alongside English artists including Ben Kingsley, Jeremy Irons, Vanessa Redgrave, Alan Rickman, Rosemary Harris, as well as members of the Berliner Ensemble and the Moscow Arts Theatre.
After working as a director for ten years, she established a creative collaboration in 1989 with movement director Dawn Mora, integrating international movement techniques and original musical composition into a contemporary approach to classical texts. Thus far, the collaboration has resulted in successful productions of Medea, Iphigenia in Aulis, Hamlet, King Lear, Uncle Vanya, and The Seagull.
