Career Fair

Wed., April 7, 2010
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Northwestern University, Norris Center Louis Room

The EPICS office organizes workshops, seminars, and lectures to help students learn about careers in the communication and entertainment industries. Among the 35 campus visitors who spoke with School of Communication students last year were actor Laura Linney, talent-management firm CEO Jeff Kwatinetz, screenwriter and actor Margaret Nagle, and directors Shekur Kapur, Kenny Leon, and Diana Ossana. An equally illustrious group of visiting agents, managers, actors, directors, writers, composers, and producers is expected in future years.

In additional to regular company and alumni visits, the EPICS office organizes the annual Career Night, where successful alumni and other industry professionals provide students with career advice in a conversational panel format. The event concludes with an informal networking session. Career Night 2010 was held November 3, 2009 in the Norris University Center.

Another annual EPICS offering, the Entertainment Panel, provides an opportunity for students to interact with alumni in the entertainment industry. Past participants have included Greg Berlanti, creator of Everwood; Marg Helgenberger, star of CSI; Richard Lewis, producer of CSI; and Laverne McKinnon, president of Shibui Entertainment.
