Career Fair

The EPICS office organizes workshops, seminars, and lectures to help students learn about careers in the communication and entertainment industries. Among the 35 campus visitors who spoke with School of Communication students last year were actor Laura Linney, talent-management firm CEO Jeff Kwatinetz, screenwriter and actor Margaret Nagle, and directors Shekur Kapur, Kenny Leon, and Diana Ossana. An equally illustrious group of visiting agents, managers, actors, directors, writers, composers, and producers is expected in future years.

Another annual EPICS offering, the Entertainment Panel, provides an opportunity for students to interact with alumni in the entertainment industry. Past participants have included Greg Berlanti, creator of Everwood; Marg Helgenberger, star of CSI; Richard Lewis, producer of CSI; and Laverne McKinnon, president of Shibui Entertainment.

Students and Alumni: All Northwestern University students and alumni are invited to attend the career fair to provide employers with a diverse pool of candidates from which to recruit. The April, 2009 career fair had 40 employers and 350 students and alums participate.
Employers: The annual Communications Career Fair is a great way to access School of Communication talent for a qualified summer intern, entry-level and/or experienced new hire.
