John J. Louis HallJohn J. Louis Hall houses Northwestern's professional production and post-production facilities for the Department of Radio/Television/Film as well as broadcast production news facilities for the Medill School of Journalism.

The Radio/Television/Film facilities include an impressive array of field production equipment that students use to complete cutting-edge coursework, and an equally extensive series of digital nonlinear post-production suites for finishing projects, the same used by professional editors. These individual suites include high-definition Avid HD/DS Nitris editing and color correction facilities, Pro Tools audio suites including Waves Diamond bundle software, Final Cut Pro 5.1 HD editing and DVD authoring suites, Avid XPress SDI editing suites, and a 2-D and 3-D animation lab running Softimage XSI software.

Louis Hall is also home to the Barbara and Garry Marshall Studio Wing, which includes two film and video stages, both with 180-degree cycloramas and full lighting grids. This studio wing is also the new home of Northwestern's award-winning WNUR 89.3 FM radio station, which reaches 2.4 million people locally and is available worldwide on the web.
