Prerequisites

Applicants must provide evidence of completion of at least one course in each of the following areas:
(1) life sciences, (2) physical science, (3) mathematics beyond college algebra and (4) behavioral science.

Examples (taken from the Northwestern University undergraduate catalog) of acceptable courses include:

  1. BIO 103-Diversity of Life, BIO 110-Biology: Genetics and Evolution, BIO 112-Biotechnology and Society
  2. PHYS 105-Music,Sound and Timbre, PHYS 130-College Physics; CHEM 101-General Chemistry, CHEM 201-Chemistry of Nature and Culture
  3. MATH 211-Short Course in Calculus, MATH 110 and 111-Introduction to Mathematics I and II, MATH 202- Finite Mathematics, Psychology 201-Statistical Methods or STATS 210-Introduction to Statistics for the Social Sciences
  4. Behavioral Science – any introductory course in psychology, sociology, and/or anthropology.
  5. Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete at least one term of American Sign Language, Statistics, and Normal Language Acquisition
