Course of Study
Students are encouraged to sample courses from around the university to develop an intellectual profile with both depth and breadth.
Proseminar. Covers seminal readings in subfields so that students not only become acquainted with faculty during their visits, but also with breadth of MTS areas.
Graduate Colloquium / MTS Speaker Series. Required in student's first 2 years. May be taken a 3rd time for credit. Includes a research and writing assignment such as a "critical review" of the research program of one of the visiting scholars, or an in depth critique of a single scholarly paper.
Practice of Scholarship. To be taken in the 2nd year.
Courses with at least 4 core MTS faculty at the 400 or 500 level.
