
Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Theatre and Drama
The Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Theatre and Drama is a cross-school program involving faculty from the Humanities, Social Sciences, Fine and Performing Arts. We train outstanding students for lifetime careers in academia, emphasizing simultaneous development of intellectual excellence in scholarship with pedagogical skills.

Adrian Curtin presents his research on Soundscapes of the European Theatrical Avant-Garde, 1890-1935 at the Winter Graduate Colloquium, an annual event jointly sponsored by IPTD, Performance Studies, the Program in Screen Cultures, and Rhetoric and Public Culture. Adrian was recently awarded a two-year Presidential Fellowship and is currently a member of Northwestern’s Society of Fellows.
