Major Requirements
Requirements can change by year. Your requirements are based on the year you entered Northwestern. You may also choose to follow the requirements for any later year (not prior years), but you must follow all of the requirements for the year you choose. You cannot pick and choose from year to year. Notify your advisor if you wish to follow requirements for a later year.

Language requirement: Communication Studies and Radio/Television/Film have a foreign language requirement. For Communication Studies, the requirement is the same as that for Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences (WCAS). For Radio/Television/Film, the requirement is four quarters, or the equivalent, of a modern foreign language. For all majors, students wishing to earn a B.A. (as opposed to a B.S.) must complete the WCAS language proficiency.
