Where can I park?

Free parking is available in the two split level parking lots available directly south of the Wirtz Center right off of Sheridan Road after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. Both the South Beach Garage and the new Visitor Center Parking Garage may be used.

Please note that the multi-level South Beach parking lot structure is not accessible to patrons who are unable to climb stairs.  For information on parking and designated drop-off locations, please read our Special Access information below.

How do I access the Box Office during the day?

The Wirtz Center Box Office is open for phone and in-person transactions Tuesdays-Fridays from 10am-5pm and Saturdays Noon-4pm.  Our website is available for ticket purchases 24/7 at wirtz.northwestern.edu.

The multi-level structure requires a permit during the week between the hours of 8am-4pm.  If you wish to come in-person to our Box Office, you may either come on Saturdays when parking in the structure is free or there are a limited number of 30-minute meters located on the upper level of the multi-level parking structure.  Patrons also may park along Sheridan Road south of Campus Drive and walk to the Box Office.

How can I get to each of the Wirtz Center spaces from the parking structure?

Barber Theater:  After parking your vehicle in the multi-level structure, walk to the north-central stairwell of the parking structure and exit to a pedestrian walkway. This path will lead you along the east side of the theatre building.  Josephine Louis Theater is located at the top of the first set of stairs. Turn left, keeping the Louis Theater to your right.  Walk past the theater, down the stairwell and continue west on the sidewalk to Campus Drive.  When you reach Campus Drive, turn to your right and follow the sidewalk north, keeping the theater building on your right at all times.  You will pass John J. Louis Hall and then a loading dock before you come to a small sidewalk with bushes leading down to a set of glass doors.  Keep walking north until you get to the north side of the building and take a right to continue on the sidewalk, up the stairs.  Once at the top of the stairs, follow the signs to the Barber to the right and walk past the Block Museum of Art.  The door for the Barber Theater lobby will be on the right.

Wallis Theater, Struble Theater, and Wirtz Center Administrative Offices:  After parking your vehicle in the multi-level structure, walk to the north-central stairwell of the parking structure and exit to a pedestrian walkway. Walk down the sidewalk and you will enter the lobby for both the Wallis and Struble Theater.  The stairs or elevator will take you to the second floor for the administrative offices.

Louis Theater: Closed for the summer season, no access.

Special Access Parking

A small lot directly west of John J. Louis Hall will have 16 reserved spaces available for patrons with handicap placards.

Special Access Drop-Off Locations:

Ethel M. Barber Theater:  After turning onto Campus Drive, continue driving straight.  You will pass the parking structure and John J. Wallis Theater & Struble Theater:  After turning onto Campus Drive, continue driving straight.  You will pass the parking structure and John J. Louis Hall on your right.  Drive another approximate 100 feet and you will come upon a turnaround on your right where you may pull off to the side and park temporarily.  From there, proceed south on the sidewalk alongside Campus Drive until you reach another small sidewalk that will lead you to a set of glass doors, which is the entrance to the Wallis and Struble Theater lobbies.

Louis Theater:  Closed for the summer season, no access.

After dropping off your guest(s) at any of the above locations, you will turn your car around so you are again heading south on Campus Drive.  If you have a placard, you can park in the handicap accessible spaces in the lot directly west of John J.
