My work with students in class is informed by many years of experience as a professional actor and director in the Chicago area and beyond. I enjoy working on a wide variety of pieces from brand new plays to ancient works to poetry with a particular interest in uplifting voices not heard often enough.

Sandra Marquez

Sandra Marquez is an award-winning actor, director & educator. A longtime ensemble member at Teatro Vista she served as Associate Artistic Director from 1998 – 2006 alongside Artistic Director, Edward Torres. At Steppenwolf Theater Company where she is also an ensemble member, she most recently directed I am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter based on the bestselling book by Erika Sanchez and adapted by Isaac Gomez and appeared in Anton Chekhov’s Seagull translated by Yasen Peyankov. At Court Theater she played Clytemnestra in Iphigenia at Aulis, Agamemnon and Electra in what was billed as the Iphigenia Cycle. Other credits include the new Amazon Prime series Night Sky and Dick Wolf Productions podcast series Dark Woods.
